Finding Olivia - by Micalea Smeltzer

Finding Olivia - by Micalea Smeltzer

All Olivia has ever wanted to do was live and make mistakes, but her preacher father has made that in possible.  She believes that her years at college will be her ticket into the real world and her chance to be wild and spontaneous.......But shes never been able to do it on her own.
At the start of her sophomore year, she only has four things crossed off her Live List, but that's all about to change thanks to a chance meeting with Trace Wentworth.  Shes about to learn that there's more to this reformed bad boy than just his looks and panty dropping smile

I really don't like saying anything negative about about but this one just didn't click, i kind of felt like it was by two different people, the first half of the book quite annoyed me i didn't find Olivia very likable, her character was very contradicting she had a hissy fit over the slightest thing like learning to skate, but she was willing to hand over her virginity to a drunken frat boy in a bathroom so easily, her character just doesn't make sense.  I thought it was such a shame as the rest of the characters were brilliant.  The writing was repetitive it seemed the author just kept retyping the list and Olivia's reason behind it just to bulk out the book.

The second half was very sweet, the author wrote Olivia's character in a completely different way making her slightly more likable and the repetitive of the writing eased up, it was a lot more enjoyable to read.  I think i would have enjoyed it more if it was more consistent to the second half..

It felt long and a chore to read therefore i give Fining Olivia 2.5 out of 5

Suggestions Please xxx

Hi All

I am looking for a new book to read and review.  One that's full of romantic build up, a little bit like Out of Line

Any suggestions???

Out of Line - by Jen McLaughlin

Out of Line - by Jen McLaughlin

Cassie has spent her entire life under her fathers thumb but now she is finally free to make her own choices... or so she thinks
When her roommate drags her to her first college party she meets Finn, Marine by day and surfer by night and the attraction is instantaneous.  He's cocky, arrogant and completely irresistible.
He wants her, she can tell but he keeps pushing her away
What she doesn't know is the reason he's keeping her at arms length, but what will she do when she finds out his secret.....

I loved this book from the first, to the very last page, i couldn't put it down!!  It is a roller coaster of emotions all the way through.

The main characters have amazing chemistry and the brilliant way the book is written makes you feel exactly what they are feeling (which really made me wish i had a Finn of my own *Swoon*)

There are heated moments aplenty throughout the book that are guaranteed to get your pulse throbbing, i just didn't want it to end!

If you are a fan of the good old romantic build up, you wont be disappointed, this book is jam packed with it ;-)

The only negative i can really say about this book is that it ended on a really annoying cliff hanger!!
But luckily the author has posted on her blog that she will be releasing the second book (Novella #1.5) Out of Time earlier than planned in December 2013 so now i am left twiddling my thumbs until then pft!

I give Out of Line 5 out of 5

Obsession - by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Obsession - by Jennifer L. Armentrout

This book is a must read if you are a Lux Series fan!
The book runs alongside Origin the 4th book in the Lux Series and is perfect for filling the gap until the 5th book is released. It can be read as a stand alone book as it doesn't really spoil anything from its sister books, but i would definitely recommend reading the others first though as you will have a better understanding of whats going on so it is more enjoyable.
Obsession is written around an Arum instead of the Luxen's and is a hell of a lot more steamier and graphic than the Lux series.
Serena's best friend witnesses a secret argument between two very powerful Luxen's, who then arrange for her to be "silenced". After witnessing her friends murder the DOD put Serena in the custody of Hunter, an Arum who must keep her safe until the DOD are sure she is not hiding any important information that her friend may have told her.
But when things take a turn for the worst and both Luxen and the DOD are after Serena, Hunter must make the decision to either, hand her over or risk everything and protect her with his life...

I really liked this book, not as exciting as the Lux series but very hot which (in my opinion) is what was missing in the sister books. It is very well written as with all Jennifer's books but some of the explanations are almost a carbon copy of the ones given throughout the Lux series like they have just been pasted in to save time. However, this does not ruin the book and it was great to read this story from the darker side...

I give Obsession 4.2 out of 5

Beneath The Surface - by M.A.Stacie

Beneath The Surface - by M.A.Stacie

I didn't realise that aggression could be so sexy!!

Kyran is a brooding CEO bad boy who is addicticed to bare knuckle boxing, he uses it as a way to relive the pent up aggression he holds against his father and screw up brother (also a CEO in his company).  His life was his company and his boxing, but he didn't realise how lonely his life was until Dale his brothers new assistant comes stumbling into his office.
Dale turns his life upside down and after initiating a sex only relationship with her he becomes addicted, but refuses to acknowledge his feelings.

The auther doesn't mess about with this book, it is fast paced and jumps right into the hot and heavy.  The chemistry between the two characters is sizzling and the banter is brilliant and witty which makes the book enjoyable to read.

The only downside is that the book feels a little rushed, my favorite part about these sort of books is the chase, this is only a small section at the beginning before they jump straight into a relationship.  Then once the relationship starts, the author skips over all "getting to know you" fun and jumps to weeks down the line, this happens a few times and the book almost feels like it should have been two books but was squeezed into one.

I would still recommend this book as it is very passionate and the characters are brilliant

I give this book 3.8 out of 4

Too Far Trilogy by Abbi Glines

Too Far Trilogy by Abbi Glines

Let me start by saying that Abbi Glines is one of my favorite authors and these books (especially the first) has a very special place in my heart, i fell in love with these books instantly.

Abbi's writing is just fantastic, she puts you right in Blaire's shoes and you can almost feel everything she does.  There where a few times in Fallen Too Far that i had tears rolling down my cheeks and a lump in my throat, she really makes you sympathise with her and has you cheering her on throughout the series

Theses books are heartbreaking, sweet and also very HOT!  Rush is the ultimate male lead in these books, he's strong, arrogant, caring and above all totally sexy.  He has you pulling your hair out with his stupid mistakes and then swooning with his apologies.  I think every girl needs Rush in there life!

I give Fallen to Far 5 out of 5 and the other two 4.5 out of 5

The Lux Series - by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Lux Series - by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I just have to start this review by saying...WOW!!

This series has to be my favorite of the year so far, when i first read the book description for Obsidian about a 17 year old girl falling for the local alien i thought it would be really corny and nearly dismissed it......Boy, am i glad i didn't

The two main characters (innocent, book worm Katy Schwartz & arrogant but stunning Daemon Black) have fantastic chemistry throughout the book and it only gets hotter as the series continues.
Each one of these books are better than the last and had me laughing, crying, swearing and also hanging on the edge of my seat

The plot lines are gripping, the romance is sizzling and they are just very well written with so many twists and turns and OMG moments that will keep you hooked from the first to the last page and still leave you wanting more........Thats where i am now, left wanting more as the 5th and final book doesnt come out until spring 2014!!  So i send out a plea to Jennifer PLEASE RELEASE THIS BOOK EARILIER!!!

If you are a Romance/Paranormal/YA fan and love books that make you "Feel" then this series is most definately a must read for you

I give this series 5 out of 5

Frigid - by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Frigid
Author Jennifer L. Armentrout

If you are looking for a quick and easy romance that you can get swept away in for a few hours, then this book is for you.

Although the plot is a little predictable, the chemistry between the main characters more than makes up for this.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is wanting a "filler" book inbetween sequals or a non-taxing travel book

I give this book 4 out of 5
